David has over 30 years’ experience advising employers and senior employees in most aspects of employment law. He acts as the lead employment law advisor on human resources matters and often as the advocate in Employment Tribunals. 

Expertise

David advises employers and senior employees on employment disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, restraint of trade and executive terminations, representing clients in Employment Tribunals. 

Experience

  • Advocate for an IT company’s successful defence of 15 disability discrimination claims heard over 10 days in the Employment Tribunal. 
  • Advocate for a haulage company’s successful defence of whistleblowing cases at Tribunal. 
  • Recovered settlement payments for a recruitment business after proving misappropriation of confidential information  
  • Prompted the withdrawal of sexual orientation discrimination proceedings against a sports company after securing evidence that the person alleging harassment had actively encouraged the conduct complained about 
  • Advised a large travel business on several board-level terminations. 

David advises on all aspects of non-contentious employment law, including contracts, policies, redundancies, TUPE, family-friendly rights, working time organisational change and commercial transactions. 

Experience

  • Advised on employment matters for the shareholders of Integrum Power Engineering Ltd on its sale to the utility and energy resources company, OCU Group Limited (OCU). OCU is backed by Triton Partners. 
  • Advised a professional services firm in relation to large scale “collective” redundancies 
  • Advised a multinational packaging company in relation to TUPE 
  • Advised HR consultants in relation to contracts, staff handbooks and family friendly policies
