Keystone Law has appointed Jon Close and Ronan Speers to join its developing Construction team.

Jon handles contentious and non-contentious legal work. His practice focuses, largely, on acting for employers and their design teams, as well as contractors and engineers. Jon has particular expertise in energy-related issues, infrastructure, precision engineering, and cyber security installations, while most of his casework is concentrated on the drafting of contracts, providing procurement advice, and advising on disputes both within the UK and internationally. Before joining Keystone, Jon was Head of Construction and Engineering at BPE Solicitors.

Meanwhile Ronan joins from Systech Solicitors, where he was a Director, and deals with both contentious and non-contentious construction matters. He has spent more than twenty years building relationships with and acting for funders, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and construction professionals in the transport, oil and gas, energy, utilities, infrastructure, communications, civil engineering, and construction sectors across Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East. Ronan currently acts for many Irish construction companies active in the UK market.

The appointments are part of Keystone’s continued strategy to identify and attract only the most senior lawyers to enhance its offering across the board. Jon and Ronan’s arrival brings the firm’s burgeoning construction offering to a total of eleven partner-level lawyers who act for the likes of Osborne, University of Bristol, Cheltenham Ladies College, and Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital School.

Keystone’s founder and Managing Partner, James Knight, said:

“Jon and Ronan join a successful and fast-growing team, which offers clients in the construction, engineering and projects spaces a comprehensive range of contentious and non-contentious advice. Both solicitors are well known, in the construction world, for their breadth of expertise and their commitment to clients.”

Jon added:

“Joining Keystone Law feels like a natural move to me as the firm’s entrepreneurial approach and keen focus on clients’ needs is something I have sought to mirror for my own clients’ benefit for a number of years. I am excited about the prospect of working with the wider Keystone team in order to continue the high-quality, integrated services offering that clients deserve to support the realisation of their business goals.”

Ronan continued:

“I am delighted to have joined Keystone’s growing and experienced Construction team. I have no doubt that construction clients will benefit from the full range of services that Keystone offers.”
