Calculus Capital, the UK’s first HMRC-approved EIS fund, was founded in 1999 by former senior-level investment bank employees John Glencross and Susan McDonald. Calculus invests in entrepreneurial, fast-growing businesses to create tax-efficient private equity funds for its clients.
Founded by professional portfolio manager Clare Flynn Levy, Essentia Analytics provides behavioural data analytics and consulting to asset managers in order to help them to make decisions about their investments. Funding from Calculus will enable them to expand their product offering and drive growth in the US and Europe.
Corporate specialist Dee Sian has extensive experience dealing with EIS and VCT investments, having successfully assisted Calculus with a number of previous investments.
Dee Sian of Keystone Law said of the deal:
“I am delighted to work once again with Alexandra Lindsay and Daniela Tsoneva at Calculus, who are always a pleasure to deal with, as was the management at Essentia. I wish them every success in the future.”
